A Birth Doula is your companion through pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum. Birth doulas offer emotional, educational, and physical support. Their role is to support your vision of birth and entrance into early parenthood in a non-medical capacity.

Sea to Sky Baby’s doulas support and attend births in all settings, home or hospital, and with your medical care provider of choice. Our doulas prioritize what makes you feel safe, empowered, seen, and heard. Their role is to offer you evidence based information on common pregnancy and birth topics, be a sounding board for your questions and inquiry, and do so without judgement and bias.

Traditional In-Person Birth Doula Support includes:

• In-person complimentary consultation, wherein you can share your desires for your pregnancy and birth, get to know the doula a bit, ask questions, and ultimately decide if the doula feels like a good fit for your family.

• Minimum three prenatal sessions, wherein the following topics will be discussed, but are not limited to;

  • what to expect during birth

  • pregnancy & birth options + evidence on benefits/risks

  • pregnancy + birth + postpartum fears & concerns

  • your vision / plan for your birth 

  • partner support & comfort measures 

  • community standard of care

  • informed choice and self advocacy

  • what to expect during the immediate postpartum 

  • preparation for postpartum and ways to support your healing after birth

  • newborn rhythm and ways to support baby's physiological needs

  • initial breastfeeding / feeding education

• personalized resources and referrals to supportive services

• unlimited phone and email support from the time of hire until 8 weeks postpartum.

• 24/7 availability for birth attendance from 37 weeks of pregnancy until birth.

• a skilled back up doula who is on call from 37 weeks until birth in the rare case that your primary doula is sick, tending to an emergency, or is at another birth.

• continuous labor support from the time you request the doula’s presence until a minimum 2 hours postpartum.

• 1 postpartum visits to support your transition from pregnancy to parenting.

Payment options: Pay in full upon hire | $1300 upon hire and $1300 at 37 weeks | Individual payment plans upon request

Virtual Birth Doula Support Includes:

• Virtual complimentary consultation, wherein you can share your desires for your pregnancy and birth, get to know the doula a bit, ask questions, and ultimately decide if the doula feels like a good fit for your family.

• 2 virtual prenatal visits (60 -  90 min each) starting within the first month of hire. If hired at 36 + weeks in your pregnancy, please be aware that due to limited time we may not be able to get 2 visits in, but every effort to do so will be made.

• Unlimited distance communication/support via text, phone, and/or e-mail during the duration of the pregnancy until 8 weeks postpartum. 

• On call virtual support from 37 weeks gestation until birth.  

• Labour support via text and phone calls during the duration of your labor until a min of 2 hours post birth.

• 1 virtual postpartum catch up

• Distance support until 8 weeks post birth
