Birthing From Within Workshop

Join Birthing from within Childbirth Educator Sara Eastwood for a half day prenatal education series inspired by the Birthing From Within curriculum!

1. Baseline, Scaling & Breath Awareness

Labor can be intense — but you can build skills to meet that intensity with more ease. This module is a chance to find the coping strategies that actually work for you, so you can feel more confident and grounded when labour begins - and the big sensations start to build. You will be guided in a simple ice technique to explore how your body and mind respond to discomfort. You’ll learn simple breath awareness techniques and everyday ways to keep them close at hand for when things get intense.

2. Walking the Labyrinth – Mapping the Birth Journey

A labyrinth isn’t a maze — it’s a single path that winds toward a center and back out again. For centuries, it’s been used to reflect on big life transitions. In this module, we’ll look at the history of labyrinths, where to find local ones, and how they can serve as a helpful way to think about birth. You’ll also create your own labyrinth — a simple, personal map to help you find your own way through birth and beyond, no matter how your path unfolds. No art or design skills needed, just curiosity!

3. The Stories We Carry – Exploring Your First Birth Story

Before we ever experience birth ourselves, we’ve already been shaped by stories — the ones we heard, saw, or absorbed as children. These early impressions have influenced how we approach birth as adults.

In this module, we’ll gently explore those early stories, beliefs, and values to better understand where our ideas about birth come from. Then, through a simple creative exercise (no art skills required), you’ll reflect on and draw your first birth story — the earliest messages and impressions about birth that have stayed with you.

There’s no right or wrong story here. This is about awareness, curiosity, and giving language or shape to what’s already within you

Ideal for parents, partners, and birth workers who want to deepen their self-awareness and prepare emotionally for birth.

January 25th 2pm - 6pm

Investment: $133 per pregnant couple or individual whether a pregnant woman or birth worker.

Meet your Birthing from Within Childbirth Educator Sara!

I’m currently training to become a Birthing from Within Childbirth Educator. Based in Whistler, I will be supporting families in the Sea to Sky corridor. I first became interested in prenatal education while preparing for the births of my own children, as well as when talking with my friends about their pregnancy and birth experiences and how they wished they would have had more support. These experiences showed me how valuable it is to have practical information and steady support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This workshop is part of my training as I build hands-on skills to support expectant parents and their partners in feeling informed, prepared, and confident going into their birth journey.
